The Plan (so far..)

The following is an explanation of where the hell my life is heading…

I plan ahead, now sometimes my plans don’t always go to plan because I also happen to be the queen of procrastination (In fact I was meant to write this post 2 days ago) however my future (after high school) is something that I really had thought long and hard about. I’ve always had dreams and aspirations, but I also love that I have mischievous streak and spontaneity about myself, it’s one of the things that makes me ‘me’. Naturally my sense of adventure and grabbing life with two hands has therefore influenced what I want to do with my life.

The Next Five Years

The next five years may happen to be the most terrifying and thrilling in my whole life! I’ve recently started working at a local fish and chip shop, so that’s bringing in some extra money! Every shift I’m putting $10 away for my retirement – may seem stupid but I’d like to be able to own my own home one day & my own fashion label.

These holidays coming in January my parents are taking me on a once in a lifetime trip to America, as our last major family holiday.  Where going to San Francisco, Steam Boat Colorado (skiing), Las Vegas and 3 magical days in Disney Land! I seriously can’t contain my excitement!

I’m starting my senior year next year which means lots of study and hard work, but not all work and no play – Formal, Graduation & Choosing the Design schools I’m applying for (I’m really keen at getting into the Whitehouse Institute of Design located in the heart of my favourite city Melbourne). Speaking of design I’m working on some different options for my formal dress – This will definitely feature in another post, because I need your trusted advice and constructive criticism!

If all goes to plan I’d love to move to Melbourne after high school. The creative people and city really just draw me in. I’m probably your typical teenage blogger I’ll follow my heart to where there’s good food, live alternative music and beautiful unique vintage clothing pieces. Sounds like absolute bliss!

I also hope to grow and share my blog with new readers. As I mature, grow and learn for the people around me I want to share my discoveries with all of you!

Bucket List | Before The Big 30

I put a big emphasis on creating ‘moment’s’ and my bucket list is no different. I felt like I had to give myself some kind of time limit otherwise nothing would get done so I chose the big 30, that’s 14 years (I’m 16 currently).  I would be more than ecstatic if I was to complete these things before 30

*Squeals with excitement*

but… I would find it more than satisfactory if I were able to complete around 80% of them. Some of these things may seem trivial – it’s not like I’ve written down “Solve world hunger”, “Cure the world of all infectious diseases” or “Abolish the wearing of galaxy tights”. They mean something significant to me and I think that’s what a bucket list should be about.

What's In Your Closet? | with Abi from My World My View.

Hello Beautiful People of the Internet!

It is an exciting day in the Riley xo calendar! The first ever instalment of 'What's In Your Closet?' with the lovely Abi from My World My View has answered several questions about herself. her blog and her intense (but understandable) love for LUSH. Hope you enjoy!

Tell us about yourself and your blog.

I'm Abi, I've only been blogging for about 4 months and I love it already! I really enjoy writing and English was always my favourite subject at school - much preferred it to Science and Maths! I also love photography, musicals and CATS...although (sadly) I don't own one yet! Something else I really enjoy is LUSH, I love their products - especially their bath bombs - and I enjoy sharing my thoughts on products with other people and asking them what they think of any products they've used.

Do you have any hobbies that influenced you to begin blogging?
I've loved writing and photography for a long time and would love to be a professional writer one day whether that be an author, poet or maybe even a professional blogger! So, in June I decided to create my blog where I would share my thoughts and experiences with people on the internet and it would also form a nice portfolio with all my written posts as well as some photos!

What's your newest or most loved item of clothing in your wardrobe & does this piece of clothing come with a story?
One of my newest items of clothing I bought was a dress from Boohoo, I’m not really a ‘dressy’ girl, but I loved it so much! It’s black and has a white peter pan collar and I just love it! It’s also surprisingly warm and I like that it has some sleeves to keep my shoulders a bit warmer too!

Are you a shoes or accessories girl?
Probably shoes, but more of a trainer/boots girl than anything else haha! I prefer my feet to be comfortable and dry rather than look really nice but being in a lot of pain

I can see you’re a massive fan of LUSH, what’s you favourite product and what would you recommend to a LUSH novice?
I am indeed! Ohh hard question…I love their bath bombs A LOT. I’d say the Sex Bomb has been my favourite so far but I love their seasonal/festive products they have like Snow Fairy at Christmas and Fluffy Egg at Easter etc. I’d recommend a bath bomb for a novice because they’re so fun and colourful and you can smell them in the shop so can get the perfect one for you!

What are your top two lady heroes?
It may sound cringey but Marilyn Monroe definitely has to be one of mine. I love that she wasn’t stick thin and the prettiest woman on the planet, but she was sexy and people liked her personality and the air of mystery she had about her. I also think there was something very romantic about her, in a way I think most girls wish they were like her in one way or another. My second would have to be Meryl Streep I think! I think she’s a great actress but I love how she doesn’t let herself or family be blasted into the spotlight all the time, she’s private which I respect a lot
Oh my Goodness I LOVE Meryl Streep! Totally agree.

If you could have tea with anyone (dead or alive) who would they be and why?
Ohh this is such a good question, I think I’d have to go with Marilyn Monroe again here, I just think it would be incredible to see her persona and listen to her talk and laugh about the things she loved.

Do you have any blogger’s or websites you find interesting that you’d suggest to your readers? I’d love to recommend Claudia Smith to you, as her photography is really amazing, let me know what you think.
Wow yes the photos are incredible!! I love Confessions of Harriet because she’s a very down to Earth blogger and I like reading about people who don’t try to big things up too much.
Wow! Harriet's article entitled 'Rant' really stuck with me. I agree with her that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all! Will be keeping my eyes on that square of the internet.

What’s e thing that you’ve learnt through blogging the last couple of months?
To not care about the number of followers I have, it’s better to have 5 loyal readers who read all your posts rather than 10,000 readers who only read a few!

You can get in touch with Abi through her
Twitter or

Thanks so much Abi for taking part! If your also keen to take part in 'What's In Your Closet' next month you can find more information in the 'What's In Your Closet?' tab. If you have any questions you'd like to see asked in next month's post simply leave a comment below.
